Partnering with the Escondido Chamber of Commerce and the California Center for the Arts, Neighborhood will be gathering pajamas for children and blankets for seniors this holiday season.
The Holidays can be a difficult time for many, and even more so after months of the COVID pandemic. Please consider grabbing an extra pair of pajamas or a blanket on your next shopping trip for someone in need who could use the comfort.
As a way to give back to those in need, and to continue the tradition of the Escondido Chamber’s Community in Unity (which cannot take place this year due to COVID-19), we will collaboratively host a pajama and blanket drive. Neighborhood will pass the donated items along to the Friends of Scott Foundation who provides these items for children with cancer and their families.
December 17th, Neighborhood will have a drive-thru drop-off location for the pajamas and blankets from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the “Northern Lights” holiday display on the 12-acre campus of the California Center for the Performing Arts. The drop-off will be located in the drive-thru area off of Escondido Blvd. Additional drop-off locations throughout Escondido will be identified and updated here when details are finalized.
We encourage everyone to visit this beautiful and family-friendly Northern Lights display with enchanting tunnels of lights, endearing scenes and more. The entire Northern Lights display runs from Nov. 30 through Jan. 3- Neighborhood will only be physically on site Thursday, Dec. 17 to collect the pajamas and blankets.
If you would like more information, or to set up your own pajama/blanket drive at your office, or with friends and family, please contact Amber Berkey, Development Manager, at amber.berkey@nhcare.org or (760) 690-5942.
