At Neighborhood, we provide integrated behavioral health services in each of our primary care clinics. This means that your entire treatment team works together, sharing information to ensure you get the best quality care. Our behavioral health services include a range of treatments for individuals with behavioral health disorders including substance use disorders.
Counseling and Therapy
We offer behavioral health counseling (therapy) services in Spanish and English to children, families, and adults. Our clinicians are licensed psychologists, social workers, or marriage family therapists who have expertise in treating a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems. Integrated behavioral health services mean that behavioral health professionals are on hand at primary care settings, allowing for immediate behavioral health assessment and intervention. Our behavioral health professionals work closely with the psychiatric medication management team and primary care physicians to provide the highest quality of integrated care.
Psychiatry
Psychiatry is the practice of diagnosing and treating behavioral health disorders. This often includes creating personalized treatment plans around a person’s disorder, including medication, therapy, counseling, alternative medicines, or any combination of these.
We offer psychiatric services through specially trained doctors and nurse practitioners. Our psychiatric services include comprehensive evaluations and medication management for individuals of all ages. We treat a range of conditions including but not limited to mood disorders, psychosis, anxiety, trauma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and substance abuse. Our program focuses on offering state-of-the-art, empathic, and culturally sensitive treatment modalities.
Telepsychiatry
We understand transportation can create a barrier to accessing care. That’s why we offer psychiatric evaluations, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults, using state-of-the-art telehealth equipment in clinics that may not have a specialty provider on site. This allows you to receive high-quality behavioral health treatment regardless of your location.
Medication Assisted Treatment Program
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines behavioral health therapy with medications to treat substance use disorders. MAT treatment is outpatient treatment for individuals who are dependent on alcohol and/or heroin or other opioids such as prescription pain killers (i.e., oxycodone, hydrocodone, methadone, codeine, morphine). MAT works to relieve withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Research has shown that medications used in MAT are safe and effective and have no adverse effect on individuals’ intelligence, mental capability, physical functioning, or employability. Neighborhood’s Evidence-Based Guidelines on Prescribing Controlled Substances
Neighborhood cares about whole-person care. Part of this care is making sure our patients know risks for harm when prescribed controlled substances (such as opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants). Our providers have thorough guidelines to follow when prescribing these medications, and each case will be evaluated individually. If a Neighborhood provider chooses not to prescribe these medications, a referral can be provided to an external doctor who specializes in medication management.
