Lakeside, CA — In a monumental stride for East County Healthcare, Neighborhood Healthcare has secured a substantial $100,000 grant from San Diego County Supervisor Joel Anderson and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. This generous grant will be instrumental in constructing a new, state-of-the-art Health Center in Lakeside, a much-needed upgrade to the existing facility that has struggled to meet the community’s growing demands.
The planned 15,000-square-foot Health Center, expected to open in 2025, will replace the outdated and cramped clinic, bringing enhanced medical and dental services to the region. This modern facility is designed to address the critical healthcare needs of Lakeside residents, particularly those with low incomes and limited access to essential services.
With the new Health Center, Neighborhood Healthcare aims to significantly increase its reach, especially to the 3,449 Lakeside residents with low incomes who aren’t currently assigned to a Federally Qualified Health Center. The expansion will enable Neighborhood’s team of compassionate healthcare professionals to provide more comprehensive care, ensuring that more residents can lead healthy and fulfilling lives. The new Lakeside Health Center represents a physical expansion and a commitment to improving healthcare equity in East County. By increasing the availability of quality medical services, this project will play a vital role in reducing regional healthcare disparities.
As the project ensues, the community is encouraged to stay informed about the construction progress and consider supporting this vital initiative. The new Health Center is set to become a cornerstone of healthcare in Lakeside, providing a lifeline to those most in need.
