Escondido, Calif. (November 5, 2021) – Neighborhood Healthcare , a regional Federally Qualified Health Center providing a wide range of medical, dental, and behavioral health services, is calling for participants for their first study of a COVID-19 preventative drug.
In collaboration with research and technology firm Altura, the community health organization seeks to advance a study on other ways to prevent a person from contracting COVID-19 in addition to vaccines.
“This study may provide doctors and communities more tools to fight this global pandemic,” said Jim Schultz, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Neighborhood Healthcare. “Participants can also gain access to the state-of-the-art medical care they deserve, regardless of their situation or circumstance.”
To qualify for the study, individuals must:
- Be at least 12 years of age or older,
- Have recently been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, OR
- Be at risk of developing COVID-19 due to their job, housing situation, or lifestyle.
- Never contracted COVID-19.
- Have not received a COVID-19 vaccine.
