Neighborhood Healthcare lost a beloved member of our family with the passing of longtime volunteer Bill Franklin. For 22 years, Bill gave his time, energy, and heart to our mission; leaving an indelible mark on our organization and all who knew him.
Bill first joined us at our Elm location, assisting with medical records, but his dedication quickly extended throughout the office. Whether helping to bring our galas to life, supporting various events by stuffing envelopes, or sorting giveaways, he was always there, ready to lend a hand. His contributions didn’t go unnoticed as he was honored with a PACE Setter/Servant Leader award, a testament to his unwavering commitment to serving others. He also earned a prestigious Presidential Volunteer Service Award, which he proudly displayed on his Neighborhood Healthcare badge!
But Bill’s impact was more than just what he did—it was who he was. He had a remarkable ability to remember personal details, from birthdays to anniversaries, making everyone around him feel valued. He shared incredible stories about his life and his time with Neighborhood Healthcare, bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went.
As he said in a patient story, “I am proud to be a part of Neighborhood, and Neighborhood will always be a part of me.” Bill embodied everything Neighborhood Healthcare stands for: compassion, service, and genuine care for others. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to inspire us all. Thank you, Bill, for 22 wonderful years of service.
