EL CAJON, Calif. (May 24, 2023)—County Supervisor Joel Anderson has awarded Neighborhood Healthcare a $50,000 grant to expand the medical capabilities at its El Cajon facility.
Enhancing Medical Services
The grant will enable the acquisition of advanced medical equipment, essential for improving patient care in the El Cajon community. Neighborhood Healthcare provides a wide range of services including medical, dental, and behavioral health.
Community Impact
Established in 1994, the El Cajon Center serves as a vital healthcare hub for the community. It processes over 53,000 visits from more than 11,000 patients annually and offers services like primary care, pediatrics, prenatal care, and much more.“We’re grateful for Supervisor Anderson’s continued support and trust in our work,” said Rakesh Patel, MD, CEO of Neighborhood Healthcare. “We believe communities like El Cajon are only as healthy as its residents. The collaborative efforts we undertake with our elected leaders and other non-profits help us provide quality, comprehensive, compassionate care to everyone, regardless of circumstances.” The grant will improve the facility’s resources, ensuring top-quality care locally and to all communities nearby in need.
Beyond Healthcare
The facility extends its support beyond medical services, according to Dr. James Schultz, CMO. “We assist with insurance coverage and family planning,” he highlighted. The center provides accessible services in several languages. The new funding will significantly enhance healthcare delivery at the El Cajon facility. This partnership between officials and healthcare providers demonstrates a strong commitment to improving public health in San Diego counties. Overall, we are beyond grateful for everyone who supports our mission to continue to make our communities happy and healthy. We, as always, are better together.
